Madison Coffman Fahrenheit 451 Technology has quickly risen to become a huge impact on society today. In the story Fahrenheit 451 it shows how attached and how big technology is to them. With the amount of devices we have today like cell phones, tv’s, smart watches, kindles and etc. There are many different reasons why technology is a threat. Today technology has impacted society as a threat tramatically in numerous different ways. There are many people who are way too attached to their technology. People nowadays are addicted to their phones and other sources of technology. They act like they wouldn't be able to live without it in their life. As a matter of fact, people view 15 billion videos online every month(“Technology fast facts” 1). The amount of time people spend on their phone without even realizing it is incredible. Similarly, “spending the most time per day on their phones with a staggering 4.7 hours”(Chang). The average person will spend around 4.7 hours on their phone. On average a person is awake for 15 hours a day, they only spend 10 hours of it without their phone. Also, “There is something wrong when our use of technological gadgets blocks out our perception of the world. This means we have become so self-absorbed that we ignore others”(Horvat 1).
