The ' 'Boiler Room ' ' tells the story of an ambitious young man 's rise, fall and redemption. The main character in this movie, Seth Davis is a 19-year-old Queens College dropout. For all of Seth Davis 's life, he has wanted to become a millionaire and to rebuild relationships or earn respect of his father, Marty a New York City federal judge. When he attains to become millionaire, however, he has endangered his chances for earning respect form his father. He runs an illegal casino in his apartment near the campus to ingratiate the college students. Although Seth had earns a successful living, but his father feel disapproves and disappoint to him. For a chance, Seth joins and becomes a trainee in J.T. Marlin. However, even as he 's on the fast track to wealth and success, he feel guilty when he realizes he is cheating people out of their life 's savings just to earn himself a few thousand dollars in commissions. While watching Boiler Room, there are three similar movies come to mind which are Wall Street (Oliver Stone, 1987), The Wolf of Wall Street (Martin Scorsese, 2013) and In the Company of Men (Neil LaBute, 1997). For some it may not help, but others may take what they learn and practice it. This movie showed how some the greed of many can cause people to behave unethically and it also illustrates where young and ambitious people, driven by greed and quick earning money may end up at the end. It is something important for us to keep in mind as we are entering the real business world. Furthermore, this movie also shows the importance of communication between parents and child.
