Jesus came down from heaven, taught his disciples to live in a like manner, told them to teach others how he lived and died on the cross for our sins. Even before his birth, Jesus is portrayed to be holy in nature. The prophecies of Jesus said that, he, the Son of God would be born of a virgin. In Micah 5:2, it says that the Messiah would be born in Bethlehem. Psalm 78:2-4, the Messiah will speak in parables, and many of those who heard these phases wouldn’t understand. Jesus performed numerous miracles; he made others see him as both a healer and a teacher. Jesus’ life can be seen as an example to live by. His life, death and resurrection are the central act of God's salvation. In the book, Antiquities of the Jews, Josephus was not very sympathetic toward the failed uprisings of other self proclaimed messiahs. These self proclaimed “false messiahs” were rarely mentioned in explicit detail. Only Jesus of Nazareth has extended narratives written about him and his accomplishments. Zedekiah, the last king of Judah; failed to live up to his name, which is translates to, “Righteous of Yahweh” (Specter and the Star pg. 25). Instead, Zedekiah lost control of Judah, watched his son died, had his eyes removed from his head and enslaved from the remainder of his life.
