Red Herring Warriors The type of red herring fallacy I found is bandwagon. The bandwagon fallacy is used when a person is scared to be rejected by their peers. This fallacy is used commonly during major sporting events. People who aren’t really into sports find it necessary to pick a team by which is the most popular. I found an example of this fallacy situation on the Jimmy Kimmel Show.
Throughout the history, different medias-(Movies, tv shows, novels, songs) tackle the topic of teenage society. Jerad Hess, the director of the film Napoleon Dynamite, used many satirical device such as Exaggeration, Parody, irony, to interpret the life of a teenager in Idaho . The representation of teenage society in Napoleon Dynamite express the ups and downs of teenage life and mock/ exaggerate the life of teenegers and other contemperoty problems and situations. The director's main objective is to exaggerate and to reveal the covel changes of the country through a point of view of a teenager and the impact of those changes in their life. The immigration of Latin Americans to America and from urban areas to more rural areas are portrayed through the character Pedro and his interactions with protagonist-Napoleon Dynamite and other characters.
What’s Eating Gilbert Grape is a dramatic film with points of comedy created in 1993. This film takes place in the serene and rural, but fading, town of Endora, Iowa. Gilbert Grape, a twenty-four year old store clerk, is assumed with the obligation of monetarily providing for his family and caring for his developmentally disabled brother Arnie. Gilbert has two sisters, Emily and Amy, the aforementioned Arnie, age seventeen, and his morbidly obese mother Bonnie, a widower of seventeen years. Gilbert’s father who committed suicide following Arnie’s birth, which initiated Bonnie’s battle with depression and gorging.

For over a decade, the popular television show “Family Guy” created by Seth MacFarlane, has shown controversial content that many people throughout the world have either loved or hated. SpongeBob Square Pants is a cartoon that is aired by Nickelodeon. It possesses many Romantic characteristics through out the show. The first quality that the show has is the interest in the common man and childhood. SpongeBob is an ordinary guy who works at the Crusty Carb as a Fry-cook. He does not have a managerial position so we can infer that he has a very low income.
If everything's an argument, then that means the whole book and title could be an argument. Everything, indeed, is an argument. Before I opened this chubby book, I doubted the title. I thought: “How can everything be an argument? That would mean our days would be spent constantly arguing--mentally or verbally.”
Satire can have many serious repercussions, including public backlash. Though satire can come off offensive, it is paramount to not censor who we are as people. Many comedies have and can cross the line of what people find acceptable in modern day America. Albeit our constitution guarantees the right to liberation of speech, it is often challenged by the public who find some satirical comedy to be morally disputable. As our society grows, so does our consciousness on what is politically correct and falls under our moral values.
I, Jenny Rodgers, am entirely aware that the current situation I'm in is mostly my fault, but in my defense, I am pretty naive.
