In September of 1961, a woman from District of Columbia had an intruder break into her apartment. While the invader of the home was there, they had taken her wallet, and also raped the woman. DeAngelo is suspected of being responsible for at least twelve (12) killings and fifty (50) rapes during this time period. He targeted women between the ages of 13-41 by sneaking into their homes as they slept.
