A man by the name of Franklin Delano Roosevelt once battled one of the biggest events in the history of the United States. By the nickname of FDR everyone knew him as the best democrat in US history as well as the youngest president to serve. Roosevelt was a democrat who battled more than a republican at the time, FDR out did people by sticking to his word after the election. FDR was the most influential person of the 20th century due to all the battles and difficulty of being president at the time. Roosevelt led in the great depression working on many solutions to fight poverty and help rebuild the economy. Roosevelt was around during the Great depression and WW2. Put in many different situations that would freak out the average person Roosevelt handled things pretty well, for example when the stock market crashed he was trying out many different solutions to help the economy and well being of the people. A smart economic move for the country at the time was when the “First hundred days had started”. It was all about prohibition & since the people were stressed about money they needed a drink or two, but since they were buying from bootleggers the government was making no profit from taxes. Even after Japan attacked in the pacific Roosevelt still tried to stay neutral and not get involved much, but later on Germany and France were battling it out a big part of WW2. Roosevelt didn’t want to help the allies but once Japan attacked Pearl Harbor in Hawaii a warning was given to Japan and then the US finally decided to get involved with WW2. The allies were Britain and the Soviet Union, the reason why the Soviets joined was only because the US agreed to help them with fighting off Germany. Being a President during WW2 says it all, FDR did a great job even though he didn't accomplish his original idea of isolationism. FDR also had post war plans before his death that were world peace and order(U-S-HISTORY). This was because his idea was from the past called isolationism to prevent the involvement of the US.(HISTORY): Since the US was attacked by Japan the US finally got involved and it ended the great depression by creating many new jobs for making important items used for the war, Roosevelt was a big preacher on world peace and didn’t want to get the US involved but it was actually really great for the economy and people of the US . “By 1940, the percentage of Americans without jobs remained in double digits and the American people lacked the purchasing power to jump start the economy. Only American entry into World
