The new deal, the deal to end all deals, came at a time of desperation, exhaustion and deprivation , however despite the hardships, the American thralls prevailed due to Franklin D. Roosevelt’s new deal. The new deal made new government programs, ranging from agriculture to social programs. Without President Roosevelt’s initiative Americans would most likely not have seen the end of the great depression. The american people not only needed the assistance of FDR but also their fellow americans as well as the support of agriculture. The end was blotted out by dust and depression but forward together while placing a ‘safety net’ behind them. Rather than looking at things through a black and white point of view everything was seen as dusty and hazy so race seemed almost non-existent. Shanty towns would pop-up along main highways, large cities and occasionally rural areas. Even though they were together there was no sense of sharing or donating because there was nothing to give. This also strengthened families because some traveled across America trying to grasp the fading ‘American Dream’. The chase was endless, constantly clawing, for just a single scrap of food or money. Despite the transgression back to primitive means of survival, love spread, music began to give people hope and FDR’s fireside chats began to give people a glimpse of the utopian society ahead rather the apocalyptic one they lived in now. Much like slavery they found hope in each other and religion and music because all three required no money or high social status because they all had nothing. The Carter Family was very famous during this time. They sung about heaven and the hardships of everyday life. The FDA and NRCS monitor agricultural production as well as foreign imports. The people trust these organizations to be true and always present even when not needed. Which stops us from such great tragedies such as the dust bowl. Other government programs protect financial aspects such as banks and monitor the rate at which loans are given. With the people many benefits are present, social security benefits everyone, no matter what race, gender or social status you are it is present. Also many schools are instilled with knowledge in order to combat the causes of the great depression a few of these are FFA, DECA and FCCLA. The longest running organization and most important of these is the FFA. Established in 1928 and spreading to all 50 states and even Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands this organization's original purpose was to focus on proper farming and government practices. This helps establish a strong agricultural base for future americans and provide long term skills in order to progress forward. DECA on the other hand focuses more on business practices and proper money saving techniques. DECA is the start for many new businesses and helped during modern day recessions to provide a safety net for all members. FCCLA is a modern organization which is centered around modern day technology and engineering practices. This gives the members the knowledge needed for success and recovery in modern day life.
