The word evaluation is fearful to some people. People fear being evaluated negativity because that do not want to be viewed as unfavorable. (Leary, 1983) The most commonly scale used to measure the apprehension people experience while being evaluated is The Fear of Negative Evaluation (FNE). (Leary, 1983) In this research, we will investigate the relationship between power, perceived competence, and aggression. Power has several different definitions. We define power as a sense of authority over others by providing a punishment. (Keltner, Gruenfeld, & Anderson, 2003) A person with high power will tend to be more aggressive if they perceive themselves to be incompetent. However, a person they perceive themselves as competent with low power will be less aggressive.

Overall, the correlation determined that there is a positive relationship between fear and power, and the strength between the two variables are moderate. However, self-esteem plays apart in power and aggression. A person with a big ego shows violent aggression which points to having low self-esteem. (Baumeister, Boden, & Smart, 1996) Low self-esteem is most dangerous type of aggression because it causes violent. (Baumeister, Boden, & Smart, 1996). Aggression was determined by a self-reporting survey that was administrated. The p value is .001 determined that the model is a good fit. There were errors with using self-reporting because a person could answer the question base on how society would view aggression. (Diamond & Magaletta, 2006).
