COURT STRUCTURE

Differentiate the federal court structure with your state's court structure. The Federal court structure in the state of Oklahoma is; The Federal Courts are US Supreme Court, US Court of Appeals and United States District Courts. For Oklahoma they are Courts of Limited Jurisdiction, Courts of General Jurisdiction, an Immediate Appellate Court, Special Courts, and Courts of Last Resort. The Supreme Court is the last court to go too. Criminal cases are heard in the Court of Criminal Appeals. The courts are located in Tulsa and Oklahoma City. The manufacturing that we do is flares and burners for refineries. Some laws in the manufacturing companies are product liabilities we manufacture burners and flares. If they burn up and it was our fault then our company could be liable for the accident if it was due to something we might have built. Advertising laws also affect manufacturing if our company has commercials say that we are going to do something then we are liable to not have false advertising. There are also the Human Resources laws which have that employees one example is OSCHA which states that a workplace should be safe. There should be written procedures in case if someone gets hurt. Some of the different forms of this in Oklahoma are medication which is used in family law. There is also settlement conferences were each party gets together and tries to settle their differences without the court system. In bankruptcy court there is a settlement conference where your debtors are listed out and there is a judge in the settlement too. Oklahoma also has an arbition in which present their cases to a third party and then they decide what is going to happen.

ClOSING In closing there are many different courts in Oklahoma. There are courts from criminal matters to bankruptcy matters. Each court has a purpose and that is for a person or person’s top get a fair trial or authority to take care of the cases that are going on. The governor for Oklahoma is Mary Fallin. She has been in office since 2011.
