Online consumers are increasingly concerned about their privacy when conducting business online. Therefore, in response to both public interest and regulatory pressures, privacy policies have become common for most business on the Internet today. However, what constitutes a well structured privacy policy? COSC uses third-party tracking tools to provide data about their website visitation and to create remarketing audiences. No Personally Identifiable Information (PII) is sent via these third-party tracking tools; only anonymous information about a customers device and browsing actions, which are contained in cookies, are collected via third-party tracking tools such as Google Analytics, Google AdWords, Facebook Ads, Twitter Ads, Yahoo! Ads and Microsoft (Bing) Ads. (2) Additionally, COSC provides Opt-Out instructions for each of these tracking tools and instruction on how to Opt-Out of many advertising companies at once by using AdChoices, the Digital Advertising Alliance's consumer choice page. (4) COSC suggests enabling the "Do Not Track" option in browsers, or utilizing other tracking & targeting avoidance measures if they feel it is necessary. Furthermore, they inform customers that any marketing emails they receive contain instructions and links to unsubscribe if they desire.
