The quote,“Life moves pretty fast if you don’t stop and look around once in awhile, you could miss it” holds much more value and meaning than what is presented. Although this quote comes from Ferris Bueller, a high-schooler from the famous 80’s movie Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, many people use this quote in their daily life. This quote is explaining how if one is still reminiscing the past, he/she will miss the great opportunities that he/she is presented with. Although Ferris Bueller is just a character from a movie, this quote may apply to most people in life. For example, an individual has been dating someone for a long time, and he/she has never been happier. Even though he/she may think it is okay, his/her significant other decides it is time to split apart. From short stories, to memoirs, there were many types of writing pieces that I have read. One of the most memorable book that I read this year was Borderline by Allan Stratton. I chose to read this book for my realistic fiction project. This novel is about a muslim high-school boy named Sammy, and the problems he faces including a bully, parents, friends, and the FBI. He first finds out that his father is keeping a secret away from him and his mother. He then goes through his computer to find that his dad has a secret meeting in Toronto with someone he is not familiar with. He immediately suspects that he is cheating on his mother, but he is not.
