Megan Liddle Language Arts 10 Ms. Pace March 4th, 2016 FFA vs. the Community: The National FFA Organization’s mission statement states that FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education (www.ffa.org). There are many ways that the National FFA Organization helps out different communities, whether it is by running community service days during state and national convention or influencing the members to care for the people around them. The National FFA Organization helps influence the lives of everyone around them through the services that are helpful to the communities. Many people claim that FFA is only about “cows and plows,” but there is more to FFA than just “cows and plows.” Most mistakes are influenced by what the members and their families are a part of instead of the values that are supported throughout the families themselves. Represented by a three circle diagram created by the FFA shows how instruction/education, supervised agricultural experiences (SAE), and FFA (www.ffa.org) are combined. This helps to explain that FFA is not all about agriculture and animals, but it is about the support of communities all over the world working with the FFA and the progression towards success with the members. The members of many organizations like FFA work together to create a better environment for many people, animals, and other living/nonliving creatures. There are many ways that the FFA organization can be seen other than with agriculture, animals, and farming, they can be seen as hard-working and respecting people who care about their lives and the lives of others around
