It is with great interest that I submit my resume for consideration for the position of Lieutenant.
When I began working full time at Rock Township in 2007, I knew that I wanted to spend the rest of my career here. I have been committed to helping this district grow and flourish and expand our reputation as a top notch district that attracts the very best paramedics. I have played an active role whenever there has been an opportunity for involvement. This includes being Chairperson of the logistics committee for the master plan that involved researching and gathering data to form a plan to maximize our resources. In addition, I serve as a field educator and was a member of the peer review board. I have also been an active member our union, including successfully helping to coordinate and run election campaigns for board members that has resulted in an incredible boost for the district to move into the future and improved transparency and communications. This valuable experience helped me better learn how to communicate with staff and management and provided increased knowledge on how to interact with different personalities while striving toward a common goal. It has given me the unique perspective of the challenges of both the field paramedics, and administration, and allowed me to facilitate positive relations between them while addressing concerns of the staff. This position was an important step out of my comfort zone. I see this district fostering an environment that encourages learning, education, communication and self improvement while acknowledging the successes that each paramedic achieves throughout their careers.
