Fight Club Personal Statement

While I may be a relative newcomer (I only joined at the beginning of this year), I believe I am fully ready and capable to lead FPMUN next year. Throughout this past year I have shown a commitment to the club; I've attended weekly meetings regularly, participated in some of the overnight trips, while being active in both. If I were to be Sec. General next year, I would certainly be ready to meet the levels of commitment necessary to run the club in the best possible fashion. Next year I will have no commitments that will take away from MUN, and while I will be involved with leadership in some other clubs, I believe that, as I'm sure you can attest to, running MUN along with other clubs is not only possible but advantageous, as cooperation …show more content…

I hope that I can use my positions in other clubs as well as MUN to push Mr. Millatzo into bringing back the clubs' fair, and maybe try and secure funding for the club from Dr. Perrotta to defer costs of some of the trips or for other projects. I also hope to do the trip to the UN Manhattan HQ, so some of the newer members might get to experience that. Along with those, I think some new ideas could be brought to the club, such as the possibility of rotating chairs so more people could participate if they want, more historical but also relevant and realistic style simulations similar to what they had in Boston, and maybe try and get a guest speaker related to the UN or international relations. Lastly, I want to increase the visibility of the club, as the clubs fair is not always the most accessible or memorable to most freshman, so I would implement paper advertising, and ideally try and organize a sort of Model UN day where we could try and incorporate more students and let more of Prep really see what MUN is
