“ I Can’t Do This But I Can Do That” was a documentary directed by Ellen Goosenberg Kent in 2010. This film was intended for families or people to learn about children with learning disabilities. The film documented the experiences of children who were diagnosed with disabilities such as Dyslexia, Dyscalcuia, Dysgraphia, Attention Deficit Disorder and Auditory Processing Disorder. The film began with a twelve- year- old girl name Abby who was having difficulty with reading, spelling and writing. She would often mix up similar words and sometimes numbers, in first grade she would write backwards. She had trouble with phonemic learning. He had problems with math and reading. Quenton would try to cheat but did not feel good about it. He hated math and struggled with counting money. His feelings were hurt when children would talk about him, leaving him feeling alone. After being diagnosed with dyscalculia, showing difficulty in understanding procedural problems such as understanding math concepts, complex math problems, sequence and fact retrieval (memorizing math facts). Quenton realized that he learned differently from others and had to take learning in a step by step process. Quenton stated he wanted to stay ahead of the dyslexia and dyscalculia, by putting himself in first place and the condition in second place. Joey was easily distracted by outside noise, it appeared as if he was ignoring people but he just didn’t understand. He also found it difficult to recognize and interpret sounds. Joey would become irritated, frustrated, and angry because people would not allow him to express himself because he it would take him a while. He would feel hopeless.
