The Final Day of Gettysburg
Do you know what was the biggest battle fought in the Civil War? Well do you? Gettysburg was the BIGGEST battle fought in the Civil War, especially the third day. The main parts about this are the charges (attacks), the Generals, and the victory.
The Charges
There were many things that happened on the third day of Gettysburg. The most things that happened were the charges (attacks). One charge was when Lee had a plan to split the Union in half the fight. Another was in the morning. I read on a website, and it said, “Early in the morning the Union struck first. General Slocum attacked Confederate troops at Culp’s hill to regain territory lost the previous day. This fight lasted for a good 8 hours finally forcing the Confederate to retreat off of Culp’s hill.” The final one was while they were fighting over Culp’s Hill; Lee was coming up with a master plan. When Lee was finishing up he made sure the master plan would make him win the battle for sure, but when they used the plan it turned out to be an epic failed plan. You can see that Lee and Meade both had master plans to win the battle of Gettysburg. (CivilWarAcadamy. com)
The General

They were led by Generals and Major Generals. The north had General George G. Meade, and General Daniel E. Sickles lead them, and for the south they had General Robert E. Lee, Major General Pickett, and General James Ewell Brown (J. E. B) Stuart led them. Lee was a clever General, that’s how he won most of the battles. Meade was a clever General to; just not as clever as Lee. Meade was a captain before becoming a General for the Union. Lee was already a General before the war even started. Well you see that Meade and Lee both really like their job as a General for armies. (Hoffsommer, 1981) (Grim & Roy,
