It has become fast, providing us with breaking news and captions of a main news or event. It assists in speedy communication. The internet websites provides one the opportunity to write one views regarding any event or social belief (Carson, 2014). The social media has reduced the gaps between cultures. This convergence does not imply that the masses are neither ‘subject’ nor ‘object’ (BAUDRILLARD, 1983) rather they are the center of the ‘medium’ and occupying a central space of the discourse. The news is not a tool then, it is the central point of our thoughts. It collects the info, data, text, requirement and needs and gives the masses a choice to reflect accordingly and not to act like dummies. The media have a certain control upon the thought processes as Baudrillard (1983) discusses but, by control it doen not imply that the people are ‘possessd’ or mechanically manipulated by the political or dominant discourse (BAUDRILLARD, 1983).
