Walmart was incorporated in Delaware, Ohio in October of 1969, and isidentified by its logo as shown in figure 1. The nature of Walmart operations is to give its customers to do a one-stop shopping experience. In doing so, Walmart opened its first supercenter in Washington, Missouri in 1988. By making this expansion Walmart has giving its customers the opportunity to shop all day every day. Also, with the new supercenter this has created more job opportunities for people to have a career in this business. Walmart is known for its competitors such as Target and Sears. Walmart is different from Target in sales. Walmart has a better quantity and Target has better quality. Since the expansion Walmart has been able to provide more of a selection with food than Target. Walmart and Sears are different in merchandising. To whereas, Walmart gives you more of what you need at a cheaper price and Sears gives you less in what you want and expects you to pay more. Walmart International has generally been one of the most rapidly growing segments in this business. Walmart is primarily establishing new stores through their acquisitions within its business. The overall gross profit rate for Walmart International is lower than that of Walmart U.S. because of the margin impact from its merchandise.
