An increasing number of people are buying manufactured products. These can include food products,electronics, etc. An increases in these products have affected us as individuals and as a society. But how do businesses and societies have an effect on each other? The manufacturing industry is positively impacted due to the fact that their sales are rising. An example would be Apple, the company started off selling 1.4 million iPhones in 2007, recent statistics show that Apple has now sold more than 170 million iPhones in 2014. Since people are buying more, the demands for the products are increasing, which gives the companies a good profit. Alas, but it doesn’t only leave a positive mark on the companies, but on society as well. Due to manufacturing companies, the employment rate has risen up. The US had an unemployment rate of 9.9% in November 2007, the numbers have reduced to 4.9% on November 2010. Fortunately, this leaves people more independent, they have more resources and don’t have to rely on companies or governments for their everyday necessities. Thus, society would be happier, more sovereign, wealthy and more accomplished. Isn’t that what the public should strike for? However, there are also some negative drawbacks. Nowadays, not a lot of people have time or energy to prepare their own food. They count on store bought processed food. This food is easy to make, but it is not healthy. Store-bought food contains many chemicals, which is required to make it instantaneous, it doesn’t have any fixed proportions; or the requirements needed by the human body.
