All most people have a common “ill” now. They can not live without phone. Also, it’s hard find a person who does not use internet. Pew Research Center stated that “As of January 2014, 74% of online adults use social networking sites” (2015), which means with the development of technology, social media becomes more common. Moreover, it will bring people some effects. There are two articles about social media. The first article “Social Networking Fact Sheet” which was published on Pew Research Center (2015) introduced some basic information about social media. The second article “The Negative Effects of Social Media on Young Adults which” written by Georgia College & State University (2015) talked about bad effects of social media on children …show more content…
The first article comes from an organization website, which is a informative article, so it delivers information to readers. The second article talks about how to reduce bad effects, and it is from an education website. Therefore, both of them need to be accurate because they need be responsible to their readers. First, they asserted facts to increase their credibility. Pew Research Center(2015) mentioned the rise of smart phones makes social networking become more easier. Meanwhile, Georgia College & State University(2015) stated “Using social media web sites is among the most common activity of today's children and adolescents and it causes many bad effects to them.” Next, both of them show many statistics to readers. For example, the first article uses percentage of internet users in each group and percentage of cell phones who use social sites. The second article shows us the percentage of teens values social media. Last, the first article uses three charts and the second uses one chart to make their point, so they are more reliable and clear. Although the first article are more reliable because it uses more statistics and charts, they both did well in
