This book can be used towards my final research essay since this book considers the process of how China transitioned from a Mao economy into an economy of a market. Thus, turning into an economy of capitalism and before it was known to be a closed off economy, yet China remains communist. As China moves towards capitalist economy it allows for China to advance as a country. Considers the notion of New China, Mao Zedong, and cultural revolution in relation to the growth of China’s economy (Gittings, 2006). By using this source will aid me into finding how China and why china alters their economic system but remains communist.

This book considers Deng Xiaoping in relation to the aspect of Chinese revolution. Considers how he is the one for the formation of economic growth in China. Expresses how he and the military were closely connected. Thus, revolution of People’s Republic of China and creation of economic structures (Goodman, 1994). This source is important to my question since it helps to analyze the socialized approach that Deng used in Cultural Revolution. He was the one to alter and modernize China, create wealth, and create power. Thus, making this source an asset to my research topic because it can help me look at the factors of government influence.
