Women in the 1920s was almost evolutionary for women. It was the overall height of fast paced changes for women. They started to wear what they wanted, getting out into the workforce, drinking and smoking and overall, becoming more independent. Women who really embraced this new move were called flappers, and they were an iconic part of the 1920s. They really were the turn of the century. Flappers were iconic in the 1920s. People today still admire how absolutely amazing and courageous they were. Makeup was a really big part of the definition of being a flapper.
