Although water is not always everybody's first choice there is no doubt that it is important. When it comes to water many people can become extremely picky. Some people even complain about tap water because it tastes bad when in the end it is healthy. While some are making a fuss about the way healthy water tastes, some people struggle to get clean water. Most people don’t have to worry about the quality of their water when they turn the faucet on. Most people that their clean water for granite. The water in Flint, Michigan is so polluted that it has greatly affected the residents of the city. Despite the warning signs people noted, the city failed to alter the cause which lead to lasting damage.
Firstly, the warning signs of this problem were very evident. One of the most common warning signs of the Flint water crisis were physical. Some of these signs include hair loss, rashes, and headaches. Some people experience more severe physical symptoms than others. The amount of lead in the water is also showing mental impacts. Some people are experiencing difficulty paying attention, learning problems, nervous system problems, and behavioral issues. These mental issues won’t go away, they are permanent.

Poverty was a major contributor to the decision to change the water source. The town of Flint is not very rich, they thought that switching water sources would save them money. The government decided that if it might save them money that it was worth a try. After switching the water source they decided to not use anti corrosives. This was a really bad decision because the water was extremely corrosive. If they decided to add the chemicals then they might have been able to switch the water source and avoid the problem.
