Throughout history people have relied on their strength and power to solve problems. In The Odyssey Odysseus is telling his adventures to court of Alcinous which involves struggles and triumphs. Odysseus was the king of Ithaca who left his family to fight in the Trojan War, with many of his men, then took close to twenty years to return home. In the epic poem The Odyssey homer changes Brute Force in order to reveal his message Brute Force will not solve every problem but, knowledge will be effective to his Ancient Greek audience and the reader. Brute Force develops from fighting with an overgrown monster to avoiding the beautiful singers to winning back his family.
The dynamic between the two brothers is quite interesting since they seem at first not to have a lot in common. Their behavior and actions demonstrate perfectly the differences between the two brothers. One could underline the fact that the dynamic between the two brothers is different from what we previously seen in Tex or The Outsiders because Peter and Edmund have two sisters. Edmund does not seem to accept the changes occurring during his stay in the Professor’s house.

To fail, in faith, we must first succeed in doubt and fear. For Wormwood and Screwtape to succeed in their victim falling from faith they must first feed him full of fear and doubt. Throughout the Screwtape Letters, both demons try to bring their subject to worship their father by practicing tactics that lead and misdirect their human to fall from his faith in Christianity. Fear, doubt, and insecurity are the first and foremost tools of misdirection that Screwtape tries to employ Wormwood to exploit. “The immediate fear and suffering of the humans is a legitimate and pleasing refreshment for our myriads of toiling workers”.
Station Eleven is a story filled with many different plotlines and backstories, all intricately woven together to paint a fascinating image of life after the Georgia Flu pandemic. The character development is one of the most intriguing parts of the novel, as the reader is surprised again and again with the actions and connections of each figure. Characters challenge conventions and expectations in order to transform and Malouf presents heroism beyond the aesthetic of the usual homeric hero. Through foresight, a spiritual connection with the gods, juxtaposed with free will, characters expose and motivate themselves to a new experience. Characters are enabled to find curiously beauty in the ordinary, the most simplistic of acts and through unconventional thinking, they break free of preconceived notions. Malouf incorporates raw emotions, grief and loss characters are united by the aspect of mortality; enabling them to challenge their previous roles and expectations.

June grows up in America where the culture to her is more familiar than that of her Chinese parents. While growing up she thought countless of times that the ways of her mother where strange and embarrassing, and at time she didn’t think of herself as truly to her heritage. Throughout the story June goes through different stages of grief, and finding herself when she truly thought she wasn’t a part of a culture.
There are two sides to every story. In the novel, Flipped, by Wendelin Van Draanen, smart and determined Juli Baker wanted the love and attention of her neighbor Bryce Loski.
