Now that Mayweather has retired from professional boxing, he will go down as one of the greatest pound for pound fighter in history. The man shares the record of being the undisputed champion with another great boxer Rocky Marciano (inspiration behind the blockbuster movie Rocky) but at the same time there are others who deny such claims - citing his choice of fighter who many believed that he cherry picked them or his less than exciting and crowd friendly tactics or his flamboyant lifestyle. What nobody can deny is his glittering career full of highlights and great moments like being champion for 18 years in his 19 year of professional boxing. To honour the future hall of fame, we look into his journey in becoming the G.O.A.T.

He was exposed to boxing to very young age more like it was in his blood to box. His father, Floyd Mayweather Sr was a welterweight contender who fought Sugar Ray Leonard (Hall of Famer) and not just his father but his uncles were also professional boxers (Jeff Mayweather and Roger Mayweather). One could imagine the house in which he grew up, everyday being exposed to boxing it was just normal that eventually he would also choose fighting as his career.
