While they have weaknesses, competitors and/or threats, the opportunities for growth and their strengths, outweigh those threats and weaknesses. Fluor provides their clients with support in areas such as building maintenance, contract staffing solutions, plant start-up readiness including engineering support, project turnover, construction/project management, quality control, safety program support/planning, materials management, sourcing, expediting, detailed engineering, estimating, project controls and a host of other services. Their superior safety recognition highly contributes to their leadership in the industry where safety is paramount. Fluor received awards and recognitions from organizations such as “Engineering News-Record Excellence in Safety”, “National Safety Council Million Work Hours Award”, “Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Gold Award” and more for projects completed in 2016. A highly recognized HSE (Health, Safety and Environment) program helps to mitigate the business risks clients consider when reviewing bids. Although Fluor does some transportation infrastructure, over the next twenty years, there is expectation of a high demand for transportation programs. The need to provide transportation services for the growing demand of energy in under-developed countries in an avenue they should further explore. With Fluor having expertise in proprietary technology, they have the opportunity to become an industry leader in providing solutions to fulfill this need. In addition, other areas of expertise include mega project experience and integration capabilities; therefore, they have the ingredients to take on even more complex projects. Another area of opportunity is engaging in more JV (Joint Venture) projects. This would not only be profitable for Fluor but for the industry
