Mission statement is a written declaration of an organization’s core purpose. There are two types of mission statement, customer-oriented and product-oriented missions. Customer-oriented missions define organization’s purpose in terms of meeting customer needs or providing solutions for them. Product-oriented missions focus on what products or services to serve rather than what solutions to provide for customers (Jurevicius, 2013). The mission statement of Focus Personal Training Institute is to educate and develop personal trainers who demonstrate technical proficiency, integrity and professionalism (FOCUS PERSONAL TRAINING INSITITUE[FPTI], n.d.). It is customer-oriented mission statement. I will analyze whether its website, http://www.focustrainerinstitute.edu/about/mission , reflects the mission statement or not. The website reflects its mission statement because FPTI provides certificate courses of Personal Training Master Course, Advanced Concepts in Master Training, Personal Training Theory and Application and Nutritional Coaching for the Fitness Professional. In addition, it provides exam preparation courses for ACE Certification Prep Course and NASM Certification Prep Course.
