Compare and Contrast Essay According to the author’s they have published a different amount of books. The author Bobbie Pyron and Ronald Smith are different because they published different amount of books. Bobbie Pyron 4 books and Ronald Smith published 63 books. “The Ghost Bird” and “Following Boo” have many similarities and differences such as sidebars and genre. One similarity between “The Ghost Bird” and “Following Boo” is the genre. Both stories have the same genre as realistic fiction. In “Following Boo” it said “Looks like he is healthy, after the doctor looks at his ears and eyes. He looks about 50 years old, the doctor said. She took off Boo’s collar and said “ These tags look old” When the doctor got back, she said “Boo looks about 50 years old” (Pyron,17-18). This quote is significant because Maggie and Nathan took Boo to the doctor and she said he was over 50 years old. In “The ghost bird” Hannah’s brother thinks that she is seeing things that he doesn't see and she gets upset and mad at her brother. On page 25 it says, In “The Ghost bird” Hannah is struggling with her brother and her brother won’t believe her that she saw a 60 year old ghost bird and she doesn't know what to do. When you see things that they don’t see they don’t believe you. In “Following Boo” Nathan and Maggie are struggling to find Boo’s owner and it is making them upset and frustrated. An example is on page 16, “ When I came out that evening, Boo was still there. He followed closely as we wandered around the campgrounds. It was strangely empty. A gust of wind blew the rusty playground swings back and forth, making a creaking sound” (Pyron, 16).
