In recent decade, the United States has seen supermarkets continuously get filled with packages labeled with things like “Low sodium” or “No Trans Fats.” Companies stick these labels on their food to match the current fads of what is good for you and what is not. In his essay Unhappy Meals, Michael Pollan advocates a return to natural and basic foods, and deplores nutritionism. Pollan argues that nutritionism does not actually tell people what is healthy or not, and that the only way to be sure you are eating healthy is to eat natural, fresh food.
Within the movie In Defense of Food, Michael Pollan attempts to tackle the question of what we “should” eat. As simple as he can, Pollan examines that question in depth, trying to push through the supermarket, good industry, diet industry, and another place people go to find and choose the food they eat. I wouldn't say its a guide on specific foods that will increase your health but more towards the line of philosophic view on what “food” has become in the united states and also comparing it to other countries around the world. Pollan feels that us complicating the food around us is not benefiting us, but hurting us. When I say complicated food I'm referring to the center of grocery stores with the all processed food or diet “healthy” food.
My opinion about the food industry is that it full of lies that help large corporation to make more money no matter how the animals much suffer. Also they don’t care about the health of people neither because the government lays on the labels of the food that people has consumed. People have to know “how ethical arguments” work and to find the proof of the arguments. For example on of the argument is that “actions can be justified by small consequences. This could be describing as the labels changing into the consumer choice of product that they want to buy.

The Food and Drug Administration responsible for ensuring that foods are safe wholesome, safe, sanitary, and effective. Regulation in the Vitamin & Supplement World Our health is extremely important, especially the older you get. In the world we live in today, sometimes we cannot consume all the nutrients we need by food alone. Food is highly processed in America and in this country, it is filled with tons of fast food and genetically modified food options everywhere you look. The need to stay healthy is important and it is becoming harder to tell what classifies as food or a supplement because some products are candy, whey protein, or tea we consume daily.
sweeten yogurt is added to that cereal for breakfast, this can add another four teaspoons of sugar coursing an exceeding of two sugar intakes just for breakfast. When it comes to food we blame it on technology, but little do we realize that as much as technology played a major role in the making of processed food we are ignorant to learn and make more enquires in the kind of food we are consuming. Although wholesome foods are helping the American society to eat healthily it should be an effort we should look forward to in knowing what we are putting in our systems. A mixed variety of rice, grains and vegetables with fruits help give us in balance and provides lasting energy balance. We can argue that healthy and junk food do not seem to go
This source has helped my research a lot because the survey they put on this source states how many people want to live a healthier lifestyle but cannot because they have trouble understanding what foods are healthy and what aren 't because they don 't understand what is being said on the nutrition labels. This source also states that these confusing nutrition labels don 't just make it hard for people who are dieting but it also hard for people who have allergies or sensitivity to some types of foods. The nutrition labels don 't state clear enough of what is actually being processed into the food. I also chose this source because it says that ingredients are a major part in how consumers pick their foods. On most food labels the ingredients are so small that most people cannot see what it says.
Labeling regulations range from average to strict standards across the globe. In recent years, some coding and marking aspects have become tighter in some regions around the world. These restrictions relate to the coding and marking of ingredients, places of origins, expiration dates, batch codes, and the like. Laser engraving systems are the most common form of marking and coding in the food and pharmaceutical industry. Here are some examples of how laser marking is used in these industries.

The Food Industry The food industry is the worldwide diversified industry which has to do with anything relevant with food from food education to marketing but principally the industry produces and or provides food to essentially all people on the planet. The only people who are excluded from the food industry are self-sustaining farmers and hunter-gatherers. In the past, almost nations believed that global agriculture market is good choose to rich the poor farmers, but now someone finds that the free market ideology is hurting food security and never lives any poor. In India 1999, government started subsiding import soybean. However, the price of bean in that time increased more than two-thirds. Commercial Food Production Essay The question of whether humans should eat meat is a controversial subject that most everyone has an opinion about. To prepare for this essay I watched, Paul McCartney on Slaughterhouses and Earthlings; 101 Reasons to be Vegan, I also chose to watch a third video entitled, A Video Tour of a Beef Plant Featuring Temple Grandin. All three videos shed light on the meat producing industry in different ways. Analyzing the content of these videos helps gain knowledge of the treatment of animals and how they are processed for human consumption.
In a 1988 act, cigarette companies were required to put warning labels on their products. This proves that putting warning labels on fast food is certainly possible, the same needs to be done to all fast-foods so that all customers will be aware of the hazards of fast-food. Fast food warning labels will make it more convenient to know about your food; it will benefit companies; and finally, it will help reduce obesity, obesity-related illnesses, and medical costs. In Conclusion, it’s time for warning labels to be put on fast food
What is Processed Food? The term ‘processed food’ applies to any food that has been changed from its natural state in some way, either for safety reasons or convenience.
