The Great Gatsby Fitzgerald, F . Scott #3 “ I hope she’ll be a fool- that’s the best thing a girl can be in this world, a beautiful little fool” (pg. 20) The author decided to write this quote in the novel because it shows that in that era womens were not respected equally as mens did. I think it means that men are better than women and women are nothing but good looks. “ And so with the sunshine and the great bursts of leaves growing on the tree, just as things grow in fast movies, I had that familiar conviction that life was beginning over again with the summer.”(pg. 6) I think Fitzgerald, F.
