What is success? What do people practice everyday to succeed in life? What do you need to succeed in life? I personally think that education is a great way to succeed in life. To get a good, quality education, students go to college and get educated. However, success doesn’t happen in a miracle, but it needs continuous effort and grit. In this society, many people get the wrong idea by thinking that all they need to succeed in life is just intelligence. However, Angela Duckworth, the assistant professor at the University of Pennsylvania doesn’t agree with this statement. She believes that grit is just as important as intelligence. She proves her point by doing a research on Ivy League school student’s GPA. The research has proven that people with grit tend to do much better in school than the people who are intelligent. She says, “people who are not as bright as the others compensate by working harder and with more determination.” As a result, their effort pays off. The first thing she talked about was that students should stay on top their classes and fully understand every chapter in order to move on to the next chapter. She mentioned that concepts in college classes builds up so quickly that if students fall behind, it’s going to be hard for them to catch up again. The next piece of advice she gave was to spend some quality time in every subject outside of class time. Through her years of teaching in college, she said she discovered that students who spend time outside of class to understand the material tends to do much better and also have fun with what they’re learning. In order to understand the lesson fully, she recommended the students to take advantage of TLC (Teaching and Learning Center) and try to get the most help they can get in order to understand the concepts fully, and
