Ford A Good Commercial

Many major companies that have paid millions of dollars for advertisements/commercials fail miserable. For example, the latest ad scandal that blew up the internet on October 8th, 2017 was Dove and it was a disaster. Dove looked really bad, thus every major news company had something to say about them. Saying that the ad was “offensive and racist”, but unlike Dove, do you know who has a successful and effective commercial? Ford does. A specific Ford commercial seems dull at first in my opinion but it is actually effective and a perfect example of showing modern engineering and technology, stylish cars, by demonstrating a short clip of their technology, for example, a clip of self-parking cars and automatic route destination system. In this advertisement of Ford that came out late January of 2017, people can see a perfect example of a successful and effective ad. The ad shows everything new in modern engineering and technology by not saying anything and letting the viewers see the features it has, for example, the self-park assist. This ad caught my attention, as a mechanical engineer major I see this ad and I see greatness in the making. We can observe that they are indeed “going forward”, which is their slogan, Ford is keeping up with their vehicles, including them with top of the market tech, equipment that people pay triple the price for in other car companies; like for example, Mercedes Benz and Audi. These new technologies include self-parking cars and something only automotive people would know is, the F-150 has a new transmission that is upgraded from six to ten speeds, which is remarkably better for gas efficiency. In the commercial, they show their all new Ford Fusion which is super high tech, the Fusion is almost like a Tesla car. It drives almost by itself by modern technology using sensors to detect cars that are near it and keeps its distance, it slows down when cars are stopping ahead, and it also detects the white lines on the road, the lines the lots of drivers have a hard time staying between in.
