With the growing acclaim of Forensic Biology in popular culture, it is impossible not to be drawn into the fascinating nature of the subject. This has only served to fuel my interest in Forensic Biology; biology is an area which has always interested me and the continuing developments of forensics means the pairing of biology alongside forensics would be an ideal combination for me. Although I realise that it is not the glamourous subjected that is depicted in television shows and the media, I still find the subject appealing with its multi-faceted nature. Interpreting cases and solving problems piques my interest and I feel my natural curiosity would drive me to find solutions to any problematic situations that I would face during the course. Studying biology, particularly at a higher level has sparked a fascination within me relating to the study of life and all the branches of the subject it leads to. In any lab work I carry out I am methodical and thorough, and am comfortable working with both basic and more advanced laboratory equipment. Setting up and carrying out scientific investigations is also an area in which I am comfortable. I am an observant person and have an eye for detail which helps me considerably in formulating solutions to problems mentally. My interest for biology has been broadened by my A-level studies into chemistry, particularly in those areas where biology and chemistry directly overlap such as biochemistry and the study of biology at a molecular level.
