The most impressive advances such as D.N.A. testing and UV light screening came into the picture much later when technology became more advanced. A fingerprint links an individual to a crime scene. Fingerprints can be found on practically any solid surface, including the human body. Fingerprint analysts classify fingerprints into three categories according to the type of surface on which they are found.
