Fossil hunting has always been peaceful for Allie, until she gets stuck on a cliff one day, and hears a faint, familiar voice trying to contact her. Are ghosts real after all? The Author, Cynthia Defelice, did an amazing job writing this book.
Many characters display various beliefs throughout the book, and have different personalities. Allie, Dub and Mr. Henry displayed courage throughout the book because of their determination to help Allie Nichols and the ghost, Lucy. Allie notices strange things going on in her school, her house, her dreams, and at fossil glen. Eleven year old Allie encounters a ghost, and has no Idea how to react or respond. She decides to adventure and attempt to help her ghost client, Lucy. Allie displays courage by helping Lucy in regard to the danger and fear she puts onto herself and others. Allie seeks help from her history teacher, Mr. Henry, and her best friend, Dub. She follows clues and signs from Lucy, in order to pursue her unfinished business. Allie noticed that there were exceedingly frightening things occurring in her town. I love that the mood of this book was written in good detail, and explains the settings and the exertions superlatively. The plot contains extraordinary elements and high development of characters. Allies' small town has always been suspicious to her, something seemed off. The author used specific writing to make the setting seem scary. Further into the book, the full backstory of Lucy the ghost contains detail of the frightening town. Elements of the mood in the story are explained along with how Allie continues to help Lucy, and the things that happened to Lucy, what caused her death. The plot twists and mystery allows the reader to see how the mood changes throughout the story. Allies character develops in a life changing way, as well as dub and mr. henry. Pam and Karen end up believing allie and changing their perspectives of the town, and the people.The plot contains many elements of mood and character development, which makes the reader feel emotion. The perspective of the book changes throughout chapters of the book, so the reader stays interested in the topics. The mood of the book stays consistent, which adds fear to the
