Traditional school versus Year round school The idea of year round school is starting to be more the topic of discussion. Many people are for the idea of year round education and many are against it. “If our country began on a year around schedule, it would have seemed bizarre to propose the summer- off schedule as a superior way to educate students” says Principle Hazel Colebank. Although some may feel year round school is great for bettering education, changing what’s considered normal could cause more harm than good.
The four-day school week policy might seem controversial to some because they don’t see the benefits that it actually comes with. The four-day school week enables students to gain an extra day off while still receiving the same amount of instruction, allowing them to devote more time to their studies and other activities. Having a four day school week causes students to be unprepared for the real life. We also have a failing school system and having a four day school week schedule would only put us further down the charts instead of us climbing up the charts to be the best. Is Four-Days The Way Imagine if we had a four-day school week instead of a five-day. Some school districts have changed from the traditional five-day school week to a four-day school week. The National Education Association should consider making the changes to a four-day school week, because it will save school districts money, students get better scores, and there is better attendance. One compelling reason is, that students will get better scores on tests. Schools would cost more to operate with air conditioning costs during the hot summer months. However, I am sure that this sort of new schedule could save money. I believe that at some point of our lives, we will learn to appreciate free time, which is greatly essential to our total growth as a human being. The four-day school week, first adopted in the 1930s when U.S. was in the throes of the Great Depression, saw a resurgence during the energy crisis of the 1970s. Eventually, the four-day plan was implemented by rural communities, in order to save money on transportation, heating, janitorial, and clerical costs.
Four-day school weeks have the capability to change student lives. Every school should invest in the four-day school week plan. Implementing this routine would allow teachers more time to teach and give students the option to do their homework during class, in turn creating student success. All of these factors would help to enhance student and faculty life, while promoting success in the classroom. Having a school system run on a four-day rotation would increase their success by offering more opportunities for lesson and work time.
I think there should be four day school weeks because students most likely want more free time out of school. The school days will end at 4:00 or maybe 4:30 pm because regular school days wouldn’t be enough learning time. This way we could have longer class periods and it’ll help because you’ll get the help you need and work will be handed in on time. Debate essay Ask anyone and I’m pretty sure they would tell you they want longer weekends. Students start looking forward to 3pm on Friday the minute their alarm wakes them up on Monday morning. Weekends are opportunities for students to let go of stress and to focus on the activities they enjoy. Some people just want longer weekends because they’re too lazy or busy. Longer weekends would make school more and exciting for students because it would give them more opportunities for self-directed work.
