Situational theory of leadership provides the variance between effectiveness and ineffectiveness of the four basic leadership styles. Business’ have its own leadership theory to for success. While, situational leadership theory, “adjust their leadership style according to the behavior and skill level of the employees” (Kelchner, L. n.d.). Once a leadership style has been determined for a business the establishing and maintaining can the challenging part of leadership within itself. By having a guide to use as a reference can be an effective tool to provide the support and confidence one needs to ensure jobs are done efficiently and effectively. Before knowing the how to of anything, an understanding of the matter should be established. With the understanding, there will be a better way for things to come along in the long run. Not guaranteeing any one method that to be the best. Four leadership style which fall under situational leadership theory are coaching, directing, delegating, and support style. By defining these leadership styles as can assist with the foundation of a go-to guide process which can be a path to a successful results. It proposes that “good leadership could enhance the inspiration of employees by illuminating the ways and evacuating deterrents to increased job performance and needed goals,” (Khan, 2013). The qualities of the theories concerning leading employees in the workplace, path-goal theory gives leaders the ability to participate.
