The Diary of Anne Frank is a story written by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett about a girl named Anne that is Jewish and has to go into hiding in her dad's old office during WWll with her mom, Edith Frank, her dad, Otto Frank, her sister, Margot Frank, a friend of Mr. Frank’s named, Hermann Van Daan, his wife, Auguste Van Daan, their son, Peter Van Daan, and finally a man named Mr. Dussel. They have to go into hiding because Hitler hates Jews and wants to send them all to concentration camps to be killed and tortured. So with the help of Miep Gies and Mr.Kraler they can get some supplies like, food, books, etc. until WWll is over by using ration books. When the families begin to settle in the hidden room, or as they call it the Annex, they have to set some ground rules like for example from eight in the morning until six in the afternoon they must only move when it is necessary and in stockinged feet, they must not speak above a whisper, must not run any water, and finally don’t use the sink or the w.c (water closet also known as the toilet). …show more content…

For example fights were going on between her and her mother, Edith, and some of the Van Daan’s but they worked through it. Later on Anne’s father gave her a diary for her to write in and to keep her entertained. Anne constantly wrote in the her diary and even developed a dream of becoming a journalist .One of the things Anne wrote about in her diary was the time Mr. Van Daan stole food from the cabinets at night and all the fights going on between her mother, etc. her diary became her best
