This process of architectural design has lead him to lead a term called: ‘organic architecture’. The use of this term allowed him to reflect and progress his thinking from his mentor, Louis Sullivan. Sullivan used the term of ‘ form follows function ‘. This same term was enhanced and rephrased by Wright to term as ‘ form and function as one’. This change of term vastly influenced by Frank Lloyd Wrights observation of nature. This suggest that nature really made a affect on him all throughout his career in architecture. Wright wanted to create an architectural design that would closely interpret nature relatively than imitate. This suggests his reason for unliking urban environments. As it suggest that he disliked urban environments but a more natured environment. With this in mind he used the most natural materials of Unornamented glass forms, use of glass, steel and reinforced concrete to produce his buildings. His intention to become a unique architect, different from other architect of his time he was very arrogant and ignored any advice given from engineers. This conflict led to long term structural problem with most of his buildings he created. Most of these factors were because of his use of advanced technology and construction technology in his time. As he wanted to look for the newest materials and methods . Wright clearly didn’t practice the trades of materials and methods. This is shown from his large use of concrete long before it was discovered that rebar and mesh was required to strengthen concrete. This failure in use of the correct material process has lead to the Kaufmanns & Western Pennsylvania Conservancy attempting to cover up and patch cracks on the master terrace parapets, which opened up at the time of the construction. Unfortunately the cracks continuously reopened overtime.
