“A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles.” - Christopher Reeve. To be a hero you don 't really need to do something amazing on a large scale. The world might have heroes, but so do neighborhoods , schools, and even friend groups. Being a hero could be as simple as cleaning up a neighborhood or babysitting someone’s kids. However, it could be as complicated as serving your country and coming back with beautiful medals. In the book, Frankenstein, written by Mary Shelley, the monster that is created could be interpreted many ways, however the monster should really be seen as a hero. In Frankenstein the monster shows it is a hero by, continuing his life after abandonment, finding for acceptance for itself, and to be compassionate to those who may not be compassionate to you. “My organs were indeed harsh, but supple: and although my voice was very unlike the soft music of their tones, yet I pronounced such words as I understood with tolerable ease.” - The monster page 95, chapter 12. The monster basically says he might have a rough exterior shell but his organs or insides are supple or soft. He is grotesque on the outside, but on the inside he is soft and sweet and can easily show love and emotion. He knows that the people in the hovel might not like his disposition, but he wants them to love him for what he is not what he looks like. In the end, Frankenstein’s monster is a hero because of choosing life, wanting to love, and showing compassion. He does many simple things that all beings are capable of doing. However, many people don 't do these actions and they can be from much better walks of life. The monster wants to be good just because that’s his natural way. He is eventually turned to a horrible life of revenge, but before that he is a good embodiment of what a hero should
