As displayed throughout Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, and Nancy Werlin’s Double Helix, significant characters engage in acts of betrayal that ultimately reveal abandonment, hidden lies, and the exposure of ones truth. Such acts of betrayal do not only reveal character flaws and vulnerability, but also affect the literacy work as a whole because of the fact that many people can or will be affected by the situation. Nonetheless, it is evident that although both authors share various differences throughout their pieces, they also share multiple comparison. Nonetheless,Victor is overwhelmed and instead of caring for the monster, he seeks an easy way out which ultimately leads to the betrayal and abandonment of the creature. Now, the monster is left without care and is filled with anger and sadness as Victor did not take responsibility to look after him. Therefore the monster goes out of rage and kills people that are closest to victor's life. Evidently, all the monster wanted was for Victor to take pride in his work and both care and accept him for the monster that he was. In addition, the monster tried to get near people with hopes of gaining trust and bonds. This however only led people to react as expected, like victor. Therefore, not only did Victor betray the monster but so did society. They all betrayed the monster because of the way he appeared. All the mean things that people were giving him affected him and really made him a monster. He took out all that anger by feeding on the betrayal that people were giving him. In addition with both stories with different background they can still come back together and relate in the scientific idea. Double Helix and Frankenstein have betrayal, lies, and family in similar but yet both stories are so different. Betrayal is something that has a different meaning to both of the text.
