In “Frankenstein” Chapter 15-17, the story was told in the point of view of the monster to give you a sense of what the monster was feeling . These chapters showed how the monster was developing more emotions and feeling more and more isolated. The most important event in my opinion is when the monster learns to read and was feeling very lonely, so he decided to attempt to made a friend. This event really captures the mindset of the monster and gets you to empathize with the monster. Chapter 15 starts of with the monster finding a leather satchel full of books and after reading those books the monster had became enlightened. One book in particular called “Paradise Lost” told a story that was very similar to the monster’s circumstances and had a profound effect on him and his outlook on life.While rummaging through his pocket he found papers from Victor’s journal regarding his creation and learned the horrifying manor in which he was created. …show more content…
The monster carefully chose a cottage of an old blind man by the name of De Lacey because he was knew that his hideous looks would scare off anyone else that he would talk to. By talking to De Lacey he could explain his situation and get him to understand his situation. So De Lacey could explain to all the other cottagers about his situation He waits for the three other people who were living in that cottage to leave so that only the blind man would see him. As the opportunity presented itself, the blind man let him into the cottage.
