It was a dark and stormy night. I was laying on the couch watching a scary movie on the TV, its radiant light lit up the room. I was just about to fall asleep when I heard a clamorous sound come from the basement. I jumped from my position on the couch and ran to the basement door. My mouth started to taste foul as my body filled with fear. I opened the door and immediately shut it again. A pungent, rotten odor hit me like a train. It smelled like death. I walked down the basement steps, creaks followed in my wake. As I reached the last step, my foot rubbed against something fleshy and wet. Of course, I couldn’t see anything and I freaked out. I walked over to see what it was but it was too far gone to identify. It looked like a small dog or cat. Its bones stuck out, organs pulled out and lying next to its body, and blood everywhere. Its eyes gorged out leaving a black abyss staring back. I got up to sit down when I heard a knock. “Thank you” was all I could think as I rushed to open the door to let my friend in. Anton entered, a scared expression on hid caramel face. I told him what I saw and he said to go up my bedroom and lock the door. He followed me up the stairs and into my room. “Tell me everything that happened” he asked. I sat down in my chair staring at my untidy room. After I told him he logged on to my computer and did some research. We looked up everything to “supernatural creatures” to “blood eating black mass”. The only things that made sense was shadow people, demons, wendigo or slender man. “Those are all myths and don’t exist” I said.
