To begin with in Frankenstein, the creature feels a great sense of hate and despicable reaction from both his creator and the outside. While some focus on Victor and his feelings, the creature knows no one cares to see all the pain that was bestowed upon the creature. The creature mentions, “I was, besides, endowed with a figure hideously deformed and loathsome; I was not even of the same nature as man.”(111). As the creature lives alone in the world, he feels more and more resentful towards Victor for giving him life. To add onto this, the creature states “When I looked around, I saw and heard of none like me. Was I then a monster, a blot upon the earth, from which all men fled, and whom all men disowned?”(111). For starters, the creature says to Victor “I am thy creature: I ought to be thy Adam; but rather the fallen angel whom thou drivest from joy for no misdeed.” (83). Once they finally face each other, the creature wants to know why Victor has chosen to abandon him and not choose to be a guide to the creature. The creature pleads for Victor to learn of his story and to understand his dilemma, but Victor simply will not. Then the creature asks “You accuse me of murder; and yet you would, with a satisfied conscience, destroy your own creature. I ask you not to spare me: listen to me; and then, if you can, and if you will, destroy the work of your hands.”(84). The creature is pleading that Victor is a narcissist if he sees that killing the creature is okay, but if the creature kills he’s an “abhorred monster”. Next, the creature states, “Believe me, Frankenstein, I am benevolent; my soul glowed with love and humanity; but am I not alone, miserably alone? You, my creator, abhor me; what hope can I gather from your fellow creatures, who owe me nothing?”(83-84). The creature explains to Victor that he truly wants to be good, but humans are affrighted by him.
