In Frankenstein, a novel by Mary Shelley, the main theme is creation. There are many different forms of creation present in this story. For instance, there is the creation of love, passion, and the breaks needed to take the journey along the way when it comes to creation. Even in Shelley’s own life, there are multiple forms of creation and the breaks she took to keep providing various enjoyable novels. Like many other writers, she has used her own life to provide the opportunity for the reader to connect with her novels. Shelley made all her connections special. For instance, after Mary Shelley took her break, she wrote about eight books. Some of her works were nominated for awards and Frankenstein even won an award (D’Ammassa, Don). Victor wasn't able to create his first creature until after his break. He had so much going on, he just needed time to calm down. That was also the case for Mary Shelley. She had so many people she loved dying around her. She was upset and needed time to heal and calm down before she started writing again. Big events often take a toll on our health. Mary Shelley and Victor had so many things going on they just couldn’t use their energy towards their passion. In Frankenstein, Mary Shelley shows that creation is important. She shows that some time off is needed for creation to continue. Frankenstein is an amazing novel that shows the different forms of creation.
