Franklin D. Roosevelt was the president during world war II he was elected during the great depression and promised to get them out of it and he did just that creating a lot of jobs for Americans he was the 32nd president for the united states this is my personal opinion but I feel like he is one of the best presidents we have ever had the man deserves a lot of credit for what he did I mean for someone to be elected in the middle of the great depression get us out of that and make it through world war II that’s one good president to me he released the new deal to get us out the great depression it really helped the federal government he was born in 1882 and died in 1945 from cerebral hemorrhage his vice president took over then franklin made …show more content…

Franklin was born January 30 1882 at Hyde park in new York he was born in to a very rich family his family made most there money off real estate and trade he was taught by tutors and governesses until about the age of 14 his mother was the dominant person in his life in 1896 FDR went to a school called Groton School for boys a high class episcopal preparatory school in the state of Massachusetts he sadly did not fit in with the others most of the boys were great at athletics Roosevelt was not Roosevelt was sad about this but wanted to impress the adults so whenever Groton headmaster was saying something or teaching something Roosevelt was there listening and taking it to heart the headmaster name was Endicott Peabody who wanted students to always help the less fortunate when FDR graduated from Groton in 1900 he went to Harvard for college he was only a C student but he was a proud member of Alpha Delta Phi fraternity he was also the editor of the Harvard newspaper and got his degree in an early three years in his last year at Harvard he got engaged to his fifth cousin Eleanor Roosevelt they got married on March 17 1905 Roosevelt then went and studied law at Columbia University Law School he ended up passing the bar exam but he did not receive a degree so for 3 years he decided to practice corporate law in New York since his family was pretty wealthy he was still living the upper-class life but FDR got tired of law practice he thought it was boring and was holding him back so
