Roosevelt was the 32nd president of the United States. He led us out of a huge Tragedy the Great depression in 1936. In 1921 at only age 39 Franklin D. Roosevelt was diagnosed with polio. He was paralyzed from the waist down. He spent the rest of his life in a wheelchair due to polio. He was then elected for president in 1933. Many people inspired him to do what he did, most being his own relatives,including Theodore Roosevelt and his lovely wife Eleanor.
