The 32nd United States president, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, was born on January 30, 1880. His family was wealthy, they made fortune in real estate and trade. James Roosevelt and Sara Ann Delano Roosevelt only had one child, Franklin. They lived in Springwood and while Franklin was growing up, his surroundings was priviledge and a sense of self-importance. Before at age 14, he was educated by tutors and governesses. He attended Groton School for boys in 1896. Franklin did not fit in with the other students. The other students were in athletics and Franklin was not. Four years later, after he graduated, he attended Harvard University. He was not a smart student, only a C student, but he was a member in editing the Harvard Crimson newspaper, Alpha Delta Phi fraternity. So, he received his degree in only three years. He founded the U.S. Naval Reserve but he was restless in the position as second chair to his boss, Josephus Daniels. In politics, he took to Washington politics and thrived on personal relationship, so he found a personal and professional success.
