Friendship “When you’re up in life your friends get to know who you are, when you’re down in life you get to know who your friends are”-Anonymous. In the story Freak the Mighty, Max and Freak demonstrate a strong friendship. They were there for each other in good times and the bad. A good friendship includes teamwork, trust, and having adventures. First of all, what does make an enduring friendship? A demonstration of friendship is trust. Max and Freak had trust when Max carries Freak on his shoulders. They had to trust one another, since Freak had to trust Max that he wouldn’t fall off his shoulders. Freak and Max had their first major adventure when they battled Tony D. At first Tony D and Freak threaten each other, but then Freak started talking back to Tony D. Freak and Max escape when Freak tells Max to run into the woods. Their second adventure is when Freak and Max returned Loretta’s purse to her . This is an adventure because Freak and Max get up at 3:00 in the morning to look in the sewer drain, then find the “treasure” or the purse. After that Freak and Max returned the purse to Loretta Lee when Iggy has a strange connection to Max. Their last adventure was had when KIller or Kenny Kane kidnaps Max. After this Freak calls the police but ventured by himself to squirt Killer Kane in the eye with sugary water which he called acid. Killer Kane was surprised, the after that Freak and Max got away safely. If you go on adventures you will have a better friendship. All in all, Freak and Max have a strong friendship because they trust each other with their secrets, they take risks together, and they are always there to help each other in times of need. Finally, Max and Freak make a great pair, because they demonstrate a friendship to others. Teamwork, trust, and adventures all help make a strong and powerful friendship.
