Through the technique used in his music and his determination to achieve what he desired, Frederic Chopin has proven himself to be known as one of the greatest composers of the nineteenth century. Although he lived a short life, the Polish composer was able to complete over 200 compositions (Evans). In addition to finding fame and success in his career, Chopin found the love of his life after moving from his homeland of Poland to France. While he is most well known for his piece “Nocturne”, all of his music was widely listened to and appreciated throughout the world. Frederic Chopin was able to create a name for himself through his success as a composer with his many beautiful, inspirational compositions.

His music was celebrated and listened to throughout all social classes no matter their status. Of his many compositions, his song, “Nocturne Op.9,” was of his most famous pieces. The beautiful melodies he created in this song reach across barriers and demonstrate the beauty and tranquility of life. The refinement yet complexity of the song emits a feeling of inspiration to whomever the listener may be. Some of his other notable compositions include his “Etudes, Op. 10” and his “Preludes, Op. 28.” Not long after the peak of his success he was supposedly diagnosed with tuberculosis. Being 1840’s France, cures for diseases such as tuberculosis were nonexistent. Although this is the most likely cause of his death, there is much speculation as to how he died and to this day remains somewhat of a mystery.
